The Emperor's New Clothes
is based on the classic children's fairy tale. A vain and haughty emperor,
who has to have the latest and greatest regardless of cost or common sense, is
fleeced by two con men. The con men weave him a suit of the most
magical fabric, stunning colors, and amazing texture -- although, as everyone
knows, they are just pocketing the money and pretending to weave thin air.
None of the members of the emperor's court or subjects are brave enough to tell
him the truth; they fall into the con men's trap and lavish the emperor with
praise and complements.
The big day, of course, arrives, and the emperor
proceeds to parade about town in his new suit. Or, is he actually parading
about in his "birthday suit?!" A lesson is learned by all as the
Emperor sings that he is finally free!
Lovely songs, fun characters, the classic
story....The Emperor's New Clothes is entertainment for the whole
family. And, how will we stage the climatic scene and
"costume"????? Come to the show and find out!
